His international recognition began in the early 1970s when he won the first prize for designing the gold medal commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Public Works Financing Authority in Rome in 1970. Awards continued the following year, as he received the diploma and cup for "Best Foreign Artist" from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in March 1971, followed by the silver medal in the Italian Drawing and Sculpture competition that same month.
His achievements didn't stop there. He continued to excel locally, winning first prize for designing the logo of Al-Salam Aviation Company in Riyadh in 1988, and the Jeddah Municipality logo in 1991. His career was crowned with the prestigious Al-Miftaha Award from Prince Khalid Al-Faisal in 2000 in recognition of pioneers.
